A wooden box landed on my step. A lovely wooden box, with an even lovelier bottle inside of it. A dark amber, almost golden-like liquid contained inside it. Bourbon. Bulleit Bourbon, to be exact.
I’ve always enjoyed a good whiskey but I’ve never had an appreciation for bourbon. I think that non-appreciation has very possibly come to an end. This product is silky smooth & hits you with an intense, almost sweet, wheaten flavour. Wow. Bulleit, you did good in convincing me that bourbon has a place on both drinks & kitchen shelves.
But what is the actual difference between whiskey & bourbon? Geography. That’s it. Bourbon hails from that place in the world known as Kentucky *images of the South & bourbon barrels pop into my head*. America, you have a good product right there.
If you’re looking for a few other uses (other than the usual sip sip), remember these when next in the kitchen:
- A sticky, bourbon, honey & lime glaze
- Bourbon & honeycomb ice cream
- Bourbon glazed doughnuts
- Bourbon & chili marinade (for steak or ribs)
So if you’re on the hunt for an extravagant gift & if the person you are gift hunting for enjoys a tipple or two… Bulleit Bourbon is the way to go. Not only is the flavour something special, the packaging is rather fancy. A win win really.
